Black Bean Brownies

I've been wanting to try this "healthy" version of brownies ever since I heard about them several months ago. They've gotten mixed reviews, but you never really know if YOU like them, until you try them, right? Well, I made Aaron try them first - without telling him what they were. He ate 2 big bites and I asked him how it tasted. He said it was good! Then I told him they are black bean brownies and he put his spoon down (I gave him a scoop of ice cream with the warm brownie, so we were using spoons) and he was like...WHAT?! I said yep and stuffed a big bite into my mouth. They were...different. But good!

The only way I can think to describe them is that they are very moist and dense. You know when brownies come out of the oven and you cannot wait until they cool to cut into them? Usually they just fall apart? Not these! I could make easy cuts and lift them right out of the pan while they were still hot. They won't replace "normal" brownies, but I would definitely make them again!


Ingredients:
1 box of brownie mix
1 15 oz. can of black beans

Directions:
Drain the can of black beans.
With the beans still in the can, fill the can with water.
Put the beans into blender and blend until smooth.
Mix beans with brownie mix and bake according to box.

Lol... I can totally picture Aaron and the look on his face when you told him about the beans. :) I'm starring this to try soon and hopefully Louis won't mind it!

Black beans are a hot commodity here, but do you add any of the other ingredients (oil / water) or is it just the beans?

I love black beans and chocolate so I'd definitely try these!

Just the beans and the dry mix - no other ingredients. Easy, huh?

LOL that you didn't tell your DH what they were first. I'll have to try these. I'll try your way of getting DH to taste them.
